Orthogramic automatically tracks and manages different versions of documents and domain representations, providing clarity and control over the information lifecycle. Users can rely on Orthogramic to handle versioning automatically while retaining the flexibility to manually adjust and revert to previous versions as needed.

Overview

In Orthogramic, managing multiple versions of documents with the same name is handled seamlessly to ensure that the most relevant and up-to-date information is always available. Each document uploaded to the system, even if it shares the same name with existing documents, is treated as a new version. This approach maintains a comprehensive version history, enabling users to track changes and access the most recent version as needed.

Version Control Mechanism:

  • Automatic Versioning: Every time a document with the same name is uploaded, Orthogramic automatically creates a new version. The system parses the document and updates the state according to the latest content, keywords, and metadata.

  • Most Recent Version Usage: By default, Orthogramic uses the most recent version of a document. This ensures that users are always working with the latest information unless specified otherwise.

  • Manual Reversion: Users have the flexibility to manually revert to a previous version if needed.

Implementation Steps:

  1. Upload Document: When a new version of a document is uploaded, Orthogramic identifies it as an update based on the document name.

  2. Automatic Parsing and Versioning: The system parses the new document and assigns it a new version number.

  3. Default to Most Recent Version: The system automatically sets the most recent version as the active version for use.
